Tata Power commissions 30MW solar power plant in Maharashtra

The power plant is developed by its wholly owned subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. It will produce over 62 million units of solar power, covering the annual energy needs of over 14000 Indian households, a spokesperson for Tata Power said.

According to TOI Rahul Shah, CEO, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, said the company aims to create a focused renewable energy business in TPREL with a sustained growth trajectory. The commissioning of the solar plant marks a milestone in our drive, to grow our portfolio of clean and renewable energy generation.

The company’s present operating capacity is 1,487 MW comprising 530 MW wind and 957 MW solar capacity located in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Punjab, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. The company is also implementing nearly 373 MW of renewable power projects at various locations on greenfield basis.
