Rays Power Infra appoints Rahul Mishra as CEO of its new venture.

Solar power company Rays Power Infra has appointed Rahul Mishra as the CEO to lead new business initiatives under Rays Future Energy India, said a company statement issued today. The new company will be focusing on distributed solar generation, including rooftop solutions, energy storage, e-vehicle and associated infrastructure, and solar energy-based products.

Mishra comes in as an equity partner and will be responsible for spearheading the overall management and the day-to-day business operations of the firm. He will be concentrating on facilitating the firm’s business and strategically aligning the company.

Commenting on the appointment, Ketan Mehta, CEO of Rays Power Infra, said, “Rahul brings with him over 14 years of cumulative experience in the energy sector across conventional and renewable energy. We believe his strong cross-functional expertise in areas including - but not confined to - equity and debt financing, fund raising, project development and execution, and commercial and contract management will be accretive and will help growing the new business.  

Prior to joining Rays Future Energy, Mishra was working with Nereus Capital, a private equity fund focused on investing in the Indian renewable energy sector. Before Nereus, he was at AES India, where he was managing the business development efforts on originating, developing, contracting, financing and execution of wind-based power projects in India. He successfully handled the implementation of a 40 MW wind power project.

Mishra started his career with Power Finance CorporationBSE -0.35 % - one of the largest lenders in the Indian power sector. He was also involved in setting up the Indian operations of GE Energy Financial Services (EFS) in India and South-east Asia region, and was part of the underwriting team evaluating transactions across the region.
