Heritage Institute of Technology holds conference on renewable energy

Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata organized a National Conference on Renewable Energy sponsored by TEQIP-II on 27th and 28th July 2016. The inaugural ceremony of the Conference was addressed by Padma Bhushan Prof. Bikash Sinha, INSA, Emeritus Scientist, Homi Bhabha Professor, Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India and Former Director, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics as the Chief Guest in the presence of Shri P.R.Agarwal, Chairman, BOG, Heritage Institute of Technology, Mr. Gyanesh Chaudhary, MD and CEO, Vikram Solar Pvt. Ltd, Dr. P.C.Pant, Scientist- F and Director, MNRE, Dr. Anil Kumar, Sr. Scientist, MNRE, Dr. Pranay Chaudhuri, Principal Heritage Institute, Mr. Probir Roy, Director, Kalyan Bhartt Trust, Prof. B.B.Paira, Advisor, Kalyan Bharti trust and Mr. P.K.Agarwal, CEO, Kalyan Bharti Trust.

Prof. Sinha spoke about climate change and emphasized on the fact that 80 % of the energy requirements are still met by coal and oil resources and the renewable energy sector is now in the growing stage moving more towards future developments. He spoke about solar energy, geo-thermal energy and nuclear energy and said that 0.13% of the Sahara Desert is enough to fulfill the requirement of energy in the globe. Mr. Gyanesh Chaudhary emphasized on the fact that the solar energy sector is becoming more cost effective and India is poised to fulfill the requirements of the solar market in future.
